Mental Health Art Project “Who Am I?” by TOMOKO – 1st Single “Who Am I?”
Based on the lyrics I wrote when I was 15, I created a song and a music video. This work portrays the story of a girl struggling with her inner light and darkness. The music video features contemporary dance by coco, who was 15 years old at the time of filming.
I met coco five years ago when she was still in elementary school, and I fell in love with her performance. She breathed life into this work, expressing my lyrics with rich emotion and passion.
The feelings I had at 15 resonate with me even now as an adult, and this song conveys messages I wish to tell my younger self. These messages are also essential to my heart today. I hope this work, depicting inner struggles through lyrics and dance, resonates with many people, from teenagers to adults.
