“to cry, to feel afraid”

A short video poem created with still photographs, words, and sound.

This piece observes tears and fear not as things to erase or overcome,
but as quiet presences that gently touch the body, memory, and the outline of a person.

100 Voices is a series within “Who Am I?” by TOMOKO.
Through photographs, moving images, words, and sound, it traces the inner voices and subtle presences within each person.

to cry, to feel afraid (In English)

Tears are warm rain falling through the heart

brushing the weight you carry

as they trace your cheek

Fear is a soft forest spreading deep within

dappled light through trembling leaves

leaves room for a deeper breath

Even when pain, fear, and tears

do not come undone

they touch, then drift away

quietly trembling

beside the outline of you
